Roadtrip 2015 Fall: Vancouver - Astoria - Bandon - Anderson - Paso Robles - Palm Desert - Morongo Valley - Sedona - Henderson - Lone Pine - Sacramento - Ashland - Newport - Astoria - Vancouver

Day 44 - WIlson Canyon

The vortexes are supremely active today - this is our hot tub at high noon.

Wendy reconsiders our parking spot at the Midgley Bridgley, after spotting the Official SUV of the Apocalypse next door. In case you can't quite make out the markings, it reads: "Holy Ghost Filled Warrior of the Lord". I'm not quite sure that's what the Vortexes had in mind. Seems a little like The Zombie Armies of Righteousness to me. Hmmm. I think I have a plotline for a B movie.

Wendy scouts far ahead to the brink of Wilson Canyon. The drop is quite astonishing.

This would be the drop.

That's the Midgley Bridgley crossing of Wilson Canyon.

Ain't nuthin' like a satisfying scratch.

Russ regards the higher grounds, but today we're sticking to the lowly side of things.

We're rewarded with a spectacular chance to get right into the canyon bottom.

Emma tries bargaining for "summit snacks". We try to explain there is no summit today - only a canyon walk. You have to work hard for a summit snack. Emma however drives a very tough negotiation.

The waters are quiet today at the canyon bottom.

Late light passes through the grasses as we follow the trail back for a rendezvous with truck - hoping it's next door neighbour hasn't arranged some sort of levitating experience while we've been gone.
